Former Brazil and Portugal national teams coach Luiz Philippe Scolari signed 18 month deal with Uzbek top club FC “Bunyodkor”
Mister Scolari works in “Bunyodkor” as club and FC “Bunyodkor” Football Academy coordinator.
Luiz Philippe Scolari said: «Uzbek football is making his great History. Especially “Bunyodkor” which achieved great progress for last four years. This club has amazing perspectives. When new great football stadium in “Tashkent” football town will be built, new era starts for “Bunyodkor” . I know, I am in good place, in good collective, and in good time».
Mr. Scolari said about his working in club Academy: «I real impressed the social investment which Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov and Republic government, Uzbekistan Football Federation make for Republic sport and I awaiting for the moment when I start working in Club Academy with impatience. Football should give equal opportunity for all Uzbekistan children and teens despite the region of living and descent». 400 children can study and train their football skills in Club Academy. Academy plans to invite seven foreign football specialists.
Scolari will work together with his team: assistant Flavio Da Cunia, Tesheira, physical coach Darlan Jose Sneider and goalkeepers coach Antonio Carlos Prscidelli
“Bunyodkor” acting director Tavakkal Ismailov said: «We pleased Scolari to decide working in our club. It shows, he trusts in club good perspectives of our Club and Uzbek football. His main aim is to improve “Bunyodkor” and Uzbek football level to qualify for WC-2014 in Brazil. “Bunyodkor” made investments in Uzbek football future not in foreign clubs. In the future FC “Bunyodkor” will be reorganized in Public Limited Company and club fans will have opportunity to buy club shares».
Now FC “Bunyodkor” participating in Uzbekistan Championship, Uzbekistan Cup and AFC Champions League
