CLUB HISTORY
“Bunyodkor” Football Club has been founded in 2005. First, team named “Kuruvchi” and participated in Tashkent city championship (Uzbekistan Second League). On 2005 team Uzbekistan Second League Final Tournament and promoted to First League. “Kuruvchi” football club had amazing first effort in Uzbekistan second level and won the tournament (38 games played, 27 wins, 5 draws and 6 losses). So, “Kuruvchi” finished amazing run up to Uzbekistan Oliy liga.
Debutant had brilliant start on Uzbekistan top level and set several national records as scored goals number, least value of conceded goals, points, taken in matches with top clubs and etc. “Kuruvchi” won 22 matches, drawn five and lost only three, with goals ratio 62:16. “Kuruvchi” became the first ever debutant, who won silver medals from first effort. Team striker Ilkhom Muminjanov got topscorer trophy. “Kuruvchi” promoted to Uzbekistan Cup Final and lost to “Pakhtakor” only on penalty shoot-out - 6:7 (0:0 in full and extra time).
2008 year was triumphal for “Bunyodkor”. Brazilian star Rivaldo and defender Luizao and Chilean striker Villanueva signed deal with FC “Bunyodkor” on second half of the year and famous Brazilian coach Zico replaced Mirjalol Kasimov, who had been appointed as national team head coach. “Bunyodkor” won both National trophies, headed by Zico and also promoted to AFC Champions League semifinal.
“Bunyodkor” set several national records in 2009, won 28 matches of 30 played, without any loss and finished the season with huge handicap from second team - 22 points. Rivaldo netted 19 goals and got the topscorer trophy. Anyway, “Bunyodkor” lost in Uzbekistan Cup Final to “Pakhtakor”.
2010 season was rather difficult for “Bunyodkor” because Luiz Felipe Scolari staff together with 13 (!) players left “Bunyodkor” after first half of the season. Anyway, “Bunyodkor” completed winning finish and won both domestic trophies.
“Bunyodkor” had very successful start in all three tournaments in the Season 2011. Mirjalol Kasimov side ran up from AFC Champions League group stage, but had been eliminated in round of 16 after loss to Iranian side “Sepahan” – 1:3. “Bunyodkor” promoted to semifinal in Uzbekistan Cup and lost to acting AFC Cup Holders “Nasaf” Karshi on penalty shoot-out. Anyway, “Bunyodkor” had brilliant run in Uzbekistan Championship and got the fourth Champions Trophy in a raw.
